Responsibilities:
? Analyzes samples consisting of a variety of matrices using traditional laboratory technologies including, but not limited to, HPLC, GC/MS, LC/MS, and ICP/MS.
? Prepares samples for analysis while displaying good laboratory technique to avoid cross-contamination or misidentified samples.
? Accurately prepares calibration curves and quality control samples ? Interprets and evaluates data in terms of accuracy, precision, trends, and quality control requirements.
? Maintains laboratory equipment by cleaning, and otherwise ensuring ongoing proper working order.
Report equipment issues to supervisor ? Prioritizes samples and provides guidance and support to the sample prep team for assigned analysis.
? Performs method validations, or verifications with minimal supervision as needed.
? Tracks inventory of supplies and reagents to ensure no interruption of work-flow ? Oversees root cause analysis for quality assurance.
? Assists in SOP edits as needed for assigned testing analysis and alert management when there is a change in procedure ? Performs method development to respond to changing client needs or regulations ? Researches new technologies and methodologies to improve laboratory processes and techniques and make recommendations to supervisors.
? Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
? Ability to perform a variety of chemical and biological laboratory tests.
? Ability to perform technical test procedures and recognize water and wastewater treatment problems during analysis of test results.
? Ability to keep records accurately and neatly and prepare clean and concise reports.
? Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
? Ability to Manage multiple tasks within a given time frame and ensure accurate results.
? Ability to work with limited supervision and provide basic supervision to subordinates and exercise sound judgment.
? Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
Education and
Experience:
? Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
? Minimum BS/BA in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering or Environmental Sciences required.
? Knowledge of principles, terminology, practices, techniques, and instrumentation commonly used in a laboratory setting required.
? At least 1-3 years of laboratory experience with data analysis preferred.
? Instrument experience required.
? Food Science and/or environmental experience a plus.
? Exposure to the cannabis industry a plus.
Physical Requirements:
? Must be able to see well enough to read fine print, computer screens and analytical equipment.
? Must be able to hear well enough to receive and understand instructions, converse on the telephone and in person.
? Must be able to use hands and fingers for sensitive analytical equipment, computer keyboard, filing, writing and answering telephones.
? Must be able to differentiate odors.
? Must be capable of clear speech.
? Must be able to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend as needed.
? Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$45,000.
